Parental Control

With Parental Control you are in charge of the content your family watches. You can block by channel, rating or content. When you block by rating, all higher ratings will also be blocked. To view blocked content or to modify your current settings, you must set up your PIN. You can then change your PIN or your Parental Control settings as you wish.

Parental Control for each digital box must be configured individually. You can have different settings on each box.

If you want to hide all adult-rated program titles and information, blocking by adult content is recommended. Selecting other criteria will block the programs but still allow program titles and information to be visible.

Creating a Parental Control PIN

  1. Press <MENU> on your remote
  2. Use <RIGHT,LEFT> to select Settings
  3. Use <UP,DOWN> to select Parental Controls and press <OK>
  4. Select Parental Controls and press <OK>
  5. Enter a 4 digit PIN using your remote
  6. Confirm the 4 digit PIN by re-entering the PIN
  7. Select what you would like to lock. Make sure you scroll down and select the 5th option, "Adult Programs", to prevent Adult program titles, images and content from showing in your Optik TV menu.
  8. Repeat steps 1 through 7 on every set top box in your household that you wish to be controlled.

Creating a Rental Locking PIN

You can also create a rental locking PIN that is different from the parental locking PIN that is required for renting VOD and PPV programs.

You will be able to lock or unlock rentals, change or reset your PIN in the Lock renting screen.
