What is Optik Local?

Optik Local (formerly TELUS Community TV) is where TELUS showcases relevant, local, community-produced content, available through Optik TV On Demand. At Optik Local we look for projects that encourage local story telling and creative pursuits while maintaining a strong commitment to high quality programming. From weekly magazine shows, music videos and documentaries to local variety shows and grass roots initiatives, Optik Local connects you to where you live through original content created for you and by you.

Optik Local community programming includes:

• TELUS produced magazine shows (myVancouver, myEdmonton and myCalgary) and other featured content offering new insights about your city and your neighbours
• Special featured content created by local producers and emerging film artists, showcasing documentaries, short films, music videos, ambient videos and more
• Community projects funded through our access granting program, reflecting your voices and your stories

Optik Local Access Program

Have an already produced piece you think would be perfect for viewing on Optik TV On Demand? Need help transforming your program idea into local programming? At Optik Local, we support community organizations, local businesses, independent producers, and educational institutions in telling their stories through our community access program.

Whether you're looking for distribution, production, training or workshop support, we want to help get your local show on the go.
